Blacknote takes pride in the quality, grading, and presentation of every record we sell. Our Return Policy is designed to be clear and fair to both parties. Please read this policy in full before initiating a return.
Return and exchange requests must be initiated within 7 days of the delivery or collection date. Requests submitted after this window will not be accepted, except in cases where the item is found to be defective or materially misdescribed — in which case a 48-hour window from the date of discovery applies, not to exceed 14 days from delivery.
Exchange requests follow the same 7-day window and are subject to stock availability. If you wish to exchange an item for a different title or condition grade, please email hello@blacknote.co.in with your order number and the item you would like in exchange. Exchanges are processed at Blacknote’s discretion; any price difference will be charged or refunded accordingly. Items purchased during sales or promotional events are not eligible for exchange unless defective.
Returns are accepted only under the following circumstances: (a) the item received is not as described on the product listing; (b) the item is defective or unplayable; (c) the wrong item was dispatched; (d) the item arrived damaged in transit. Returns based on change of mind, buyer’s remorse, or dissatisfaction with a subjective grading assessment are not accepted.
Items must be returned in the exact condition in which they were received. Sealed records must remain sealed. Pre-owned records must not show any additional signs of play, wear, sleeve damage, or handling beyond what was described at the time of sale. Any item returned in a worse condition than received will be subject to a partial refund or outright rejection at Blacknote’s sole discretion. We reserve the right to photograph all returned items upon receipt for verification.
All returns require prior written authorisation. To initiate a return, email hello@blacknote.co.in with the subject line “Return Request — [Order Number]”, including your order number, the item(s) you wish to return, and the reason for the return (with supporting photos where relevant). Do not dispatch or drop off any item before receiving a Return Authorisation (RA) from our team. Items returned without an RA will not be accepted.
For orders delivered via our third-party delivery partner, our team will coordinate the return logistics with you directly upon authorisation. Return shipping costs are borne by Blacknote only in cases where the item was defective, damaged in transit, or incorrectly dispatched. In all other eligible return scenarios, the cost of return shipping is the responsibility of the customer unless agreed otherwise in writing.
For orders collected in store, returns must be brought back to the same location during business hours, accompanied by proof of purchase. No drop-offs will be accepted without a prior RA email confirmation.
Exchanges are available at Blacknote’s discretion and subject to stock availability. We are happy to exchange an eligible item for another of equal or greater value, with any price difference payable by the customer. Exchanges are not available on sale items or opened pre-owned records unless the item was defective.
Items marked “Final Sale” at the time of purchase are not eligible for return or exchange under any circumstances, except where defective.
